The Man from Moogaga

Award winning music/comedy/storytelling show about football, mayhem and magic! Throughout the performance, de Staic uses his exquisite fiddle playing to adorn and embellish the narrative.

“The Man From Moogaga” is an hilarious, fantastical tale of growing up in remote small town Ireland in the 1980’s, while playing with friends on the local GAA team. As the years pass, he and his teammates take to the road, becoming part of the Irish diaspora. This rights of passage tale is full of twists and turns with a cast of strong, peculiar characters.

Award:
  • Winner Galway Water Best Comedy - Galway Fringe 2014
"He has taken an ancient form of storytelling and updated it with his own distinctive style. It’s an absolute pleasure to witness something so intrinsically Irish, something that is both modern and ancient at the same time." - Philip Dunne, State.ie

The Summer I Did the Leaving

Award winning, outrageous epic about the year Aindrias did his Irish school exam ("the leaving”).

As a 17-year-old schoolboy growing up in a tough world, he wants to go to an Irish folk festival to learn to play the lyrical music to coax the mackerel out of the water near his home in rural Galway. His obsession with playing the fiddle takes him from Galway to Glastonbury to Scotland and beyond. An engaging tale with comic ingenuity and wild live music.

Award:
  • Winner Three Weeks Editors Award - Edinburgh Fringe 2009
"This is a performance of warmth, invention and wit. He draws you in to his story and absorbs to the very end," - one4review
